Club Run: Night Run – 6-8km, Horton Country Park / Epsom Common

6-8km social run. Distance will be determined by who is coming, as well as weather and trail conditions. We will either do a loop within Horton Country Park, or go over to Epsom/Ashtead Common, depending on what distance we choose, and all the other factors we take into account!

If you have not done a night run before, please let Brenda know in advance so she can give a briefing and advice.

Difficulty: This will be an easy run, some ups and downs but nothing too awful!

Trails: Mostly easy trails, possibly some muddy bits.

Pace:No minimum pace, you just need to be able to cover the distance, there will be breathers. Pace will be determined by who is running. All welcome, no-one will be left behind.

Warnings: Muddy/slippery surfaces, wildlife.

Please arrive by 6:45pm at the latest, so that you have time to kit up/let your dog toilet etc. We will move off at 7pm promptly.

It will be dark at the start so please bring your headtorch!

You will need:

• Head torches
• Reflective clothing
• Light up collar (not flashing.)

Please note:  Brenda is a licenced Run Leader, but is not a certified Canicross Coach. As such, she leads guided runs to support your canicross journey and provide opportunities to explore new trails and meet new people, but these runs will not contain any canicross specific coaching.

In order to take part safely, you should be reasonably confident in handling your dog on the trails, and should ensure that your and your dog’s ability matches or exceeds that stated in the run write up.
